Policies and Guidelines

International Journal of Computers and Informatics (IJCI) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary international journal committed to advancing intelligent systems and technologies that address real-world challenges. To achieve resilience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, intelligent systems utilize approaches that handle imprecision, ambiguity, and partial truth. The primary aim of the journal is to publish high-quality academic contributions in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Optimization, Computing, Operations Research, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, and related fields. The journal maintains the rigorous standards expected of international scientific journals and seeks contributions that exhibit originality, depth, and relevance.

Requirements

All new submissions must include the following attachments:

  1. PDF manuscript formatted according to IJCI style.
  2. Source code for the software and replication materials for all findings, ideally via a single, annotated standalone replication script.
All results from the publication must be reproducible using the provided replication materials. If attachments exceed size limits, a link to the materials should be provided in the submission.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be written in English using Microsoft Word. The IJCI Style Guide must be followed for formatting; please download the [Template.docx] here.
Only PDF files are accepted for initial submission. It is the authors' responsibility to submit the manuscript in a suitable format (.docx), adhering strictly to the style rules. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's formatting standards will be returned to the authors immediately.

Permissions

Authors who wish to use previously published figures, tables, or text excerpts in their papers must obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both print and online formats. Proof of such permission must be submitted along with the manuscript. Without this documentation, any content submitted will be assumed to be original.

Online Submission

All submissions must be made through the journal's online submission system.

Review Process

The editorial decisions include the following:

  • Rejection Decisions:
    • Decline (editorial reject),
    • Reject (after review, potentially after revision)
  • Revision Decisions:
    • Resubmit for review (sent back to reviewers and editor),
    • Revision required (reviewed only by the editor)
  • Acceptance Decisions:
    • Conditional acceptance

Revisions, at any phase of the review process, must be accompanied by a point-by-point response to the concerns raised by reviewers and editors. Manuscripts rejected by IJCI cannot be resubmitted. The review process is designed to provide enough feedback for authors to submit to other journals if necessary.
Failure to respond to revision requests within the given timeline will result in the manuscript being declared withdrawn. Conditionally accepted papers must be finalized within one month, or they will also be marked as withdrawn.

Publishing Process

Final acceptance is contingent on the submission of a manuscript that meets IJCI style and reproducibility standards. It is the author's responsibility to ensure compliance with these guidelines. Manuscripts accepted but failing to meet the conditions will not be published. Each accepted article will be published in its own issue, with volumes of issues released.

Review & Publication Speed (average):

  • Submission to Immediate Decision: 5 days
  • Submission to First Decision: 9 weeks
  • Submission to Acceptance: 16 weeks (Review Time: 8 weeks)
  • Acceptance to Online Publication (after License Agreement): 5 days
  • Acceptance to Final Publication: 4 weeks

Reviewer's Report

The reviewing process involves selecting at least three reviewers from the journal’s global Reviewing Committee. Each reviewer submits a report and recommendation: accept, reject, or accept with minor or major revisions. Reviewers are required to follow the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism checks are conducted using iThenticate software.

Ethics & Disclosures

The journal is dedicated to publishing research with the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
